আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট ছেড়ে দিবেন এমন ঘোষনা দিলেও তামিম ইকবালকে ছাড়ছেন না বিসিবি।
এখনো অধিনায়ক হিসেবে পাওয়ার আশা করছেন বিসিবি প্রধান নাজমুল হাসান পাপন। তিনি চান,
মত পরিবর্তন করে ফিরে এসে এশিয়া কাপ ও বিশ্বকাপে যেন তামিম দলের দায়িত্ব আবার নেন।
গত বৃহস্পতিবার চট্টগ্রামে হঠাৎ করেই আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট ছেড়ে দেওয়ার ঘোষণা দেন তামিম।
রাতে এই ঘটনায় রাজধানীর একটি হোটেলে জরুরি সভায় বসে বিসিবি।
সভা শেষে বিসিবি প্রধান পাপন গণমাধ্যমকে জানান, তামিমের সঙ্গে অনেক চেষ্টা করেও যোগাযোগ করতে পারছেন না তিনি। দলের ম্যানেজার ও তামিমের বড় ভাই নাফীস ইকবালের মাধ্যমে তাকে ফেরার বার্তা জানিয়েছেন তিনি। তবে এখনো তামিমের কাছ থেকে সাড়া মেলেনি, 'আমি নাফীসকে বলেছি, ও এই সিরিজ অন্তত খেলুক অধিনায়ক হিসেবে। তারপর আমরা আলোচনা করব কী করা যায়। তারপর বলেছি তার মত লিজেন্ডারি ক্রিকেটার এরকম সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া ঠিক হচ্ছে না। তার থাকাটা দলে বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেটের জন্য অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।'
'নাফীস আমাকে বলেছে সে মেসেজ করবে করেছে । কিন্তু কোন উত্তর আসেনি।'
যেহেতু সিরিজের মাঝে অবসর নিয়েছেন তামিম, সিরিজ চালিয়ে যাওয়ার একটা ব্যাপার থাকে। আফগানিস্তানের বিপক্ষে ওয়ানডে সিরিজের বাকি দুই ম্যাচের জন্য তাই লিটন দাসকে আপাতত অধিনায়কের দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে।
তবে তামিমের সিদ্ধান্ত জানার আগ পর্যন্ত স্থায়ী অধিনায়কের ব্যাপারে সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে পারছেন না তারা, 'প্রথম কথা হচ্ছে, আমি যেহেতু একটা মেসেজ দিয়েছি। আমাকে অপেক্ষা করতেই হবে। তার কাছ থেকে রেসপন্স আসে কিনা। আমি আশা করব আমাদের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করে সমাধান পাওয়া যায় কিনা চেষ্টা করব।'
তামিমকে এখনো ওয়ানডে দলে দরকার জানিয়ে বিসিবি সভাপতি বলেন বিশ্বকাপ, এশিয়া কাপে
এখনো তাদের পছন্দ তামিমই, 'আমি আবারও বলি ওকে আমাদের ওয়ানডে দলে দরকার। ও যদি
ওর মত পরিবর্তন করে সেই অপেক্ষা করব। আমরা অপেক্ষা করব।'

and take charge of the team again in Asia Cup and World Cup.
Tamim suddenly announced his retirement from international cricket last Thursday in Chittagong.
BCB held an emergency meeting at a hotel in the capital at night in this incident.
After the meeting, BCB chief Papon told the media that he is unable to communicate with Tamim
even after trying so hard. He conveyed the message of his return through team manager and Tamim's elder brother Nafees Iqbal. But there is still no response from Tamim, 'I told Nafees, he should at least play this series as captain. Then we will discuss what can be done. Then I said it is not right for a legendary cricketer like him to take such a decision. His presence in the team is very important for Bangladesh cricket.
Nafees told me he would send a message. But no answer came.'
