আগামী বুধবার ১২ জুলাই বিএনপি রাজধানীতে এক সমাবেশে সরকারপতনের এক দফা আন্দোলনের চূড়ান্ত ঘোষণা দেবে। নয়াপল্টনে বিএনপির কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয়ের সামনে অনুষ্ঠিত সমাবেশ থেকে দলের মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর এই ঘোষণা দিতে পারেন। যুগপৎ আন্দোলনে অংশগ্রহণকারী সব রাজনৈতিক দল ও জোট আলাদাভাবে একদফা আন্দোলনের ঘোষণা দেবে। এক দফা আন্দোলনে হরতাল, অবরোধ, অসহযোগ, ঘেরাওসহ লাগাতার নানা কর্মসূচির প্রস্তাব রয়েছে। তবে বিএনপি হরতাল-অবরোধের মতো কর্মসূচিতে যেতে চায় না। অহিংস কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে আন্দোলন শুরু করতে চায়। পরিস্থিতি বাধ্য করলে কঠোর কর্মসূচিতে যাবে দলটি। এ জন্য বিএনপি এবং অঙ্গ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনকে সার্বিক প্রস্তুতি গ্রহণের নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হয়েছে।
গত শনিবার নয়াপল্টনের কার্যালয়ে দলের ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানের (ভার্চুয়ালি) সভাপতিত্বে এক রুদ্ধদ্বার সভায় এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়। পরে রাতে বিএনপির চেয়ারপারসন খালেদা জিয়ার সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করে মির্জা ফখরুল এক দফা আন্দোলনের সিদ্ধান্তসহ সার্বিক পরিস্থিতি অবহিত করেন।
বুধবারের সমাবেশের অনুমতির জন্য গতকাল ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশ কমিশনারের কাছে চিঠি দিয়েছে বিএনপি। পুলিশ বলেছে, তারা পর্যালোচনা করে অনুমতির সিদ্ধান্ত জানাবে। ঢাকা মহানগর বিএনপির সূত্র বলছে, সমাবেশে বড় ধরনের শোডাউন করতে ইতিমধ্যে কয়েক বার প্রস্তুতি সভা করা হয়েছে। গতকাল বিকালেও সমাবেশ সফল করতে যৌথ সভা করা হয়েছে। সভা থেকে ঢাকা জেলা ও আশপাশের জেলার নেতাদের নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হয়েছে সর্বোচ্চ লোকসমাগম করতে। একই নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হয়েছে রাজধানীর থানা ও ওয়ার্ডের নেতাদেরও।
জানা গেছে, যুগপৎ আন্দোলনের সঙ্গীরা চেয়েছিল বিএনপির সঙ্গে এক মঞ্চ থেকে এক দফার ঘোষণা দিতে। কিন্তু বিএনপি চাইছে না এক মঞ্চ থেকে ঘোষণা দিতে। সঙ্গীরাও ১২ জুলাই আলাদাভাবে এ কদফা ঘোষণা দেবে।
ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়নের (ইইউ) নির্বাচনবিষয়ক তথ্যানুসন্ধানী মিশন ১৬ দিনের সফরে ঢাকা এসেছে। এছাড়া এ সপ্তাহে ঢাকায় আসছেন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের শক্তিশালী একটি প্রতিনিধিদল। তাই কিছুটা আগেই সরকারপতনের এক দফার আন্দোলনের ঘোষণা দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে দলটি। এই এক দফার আন্দোলনের ঘোষণার মধ্য দিয়ে বিএনপি বিদেশি প্রতিনিধিদের কাছে বার্তা পৌঁছাতে চায় যে, তারা এই সরকারপতন আন্দোলনের চূড়ান্ত ধাপে নেমেছে।
On Wednesday, July 12, the BNP will make a final announcement of the one-stage movement to topple the government in a rally in the capital. This decision was taken in a closed-door meeting chaired by party acting chairman Tarek Rahman (virtually) at Nayapaltan office last Saturday. Later in the night, Mirza Fakhrul met BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and informed about the overall situation along with the decision of one phase movement.
BNP has sent a letter to Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner yesterday for permission for Wednesday's rally. Police said they will review and decide on the permit. Sources of Dhaka Metropolitan BNP say that preparation meetings have already been held several times for a major showdown in the rally. A joint meeting was held yesterday afternoon to make the rally a success. From the meeting, the leaders of Dhaka district and surrounding districts have been instructed to gather the maximum number of people. The same instructions have been given to the police station and ward leaders of the capital.
It is known that the companions of the simultaneous movement wanted to make a one-point announcement from the same platform with the BNP. But BNP does not want to announce from one platform. The partners will also announce this Kadfa separately on July 12.
European Union (EU) election fact-finding mission has arrived in Dhaka on a 16-day visit. Besides, a strong delegation of the United States is coming to Dhaka this week. Therefore, the party has decided to announce a one-phase movement to overthrow the government. By announcing this one-phase movement, BNP wants to send a message to the foreign representatives that they have reached the final stage of this movement to topple the government.
