মানুষের অধিকার আদায়ের জন্যই আ. লীগের প্রতিষ্ঠা : প্রধানমন্ত্রী
আওয়ামী লীগ প্রতিষ্ঠাই হয়েছিল মানুষের অধিকার আদায়ের জন্য বলেছেন আওয়ামী লীগ সভাপতি ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা বলেছেন । আওয়ামী লীগ এদেশের সামাজিক, অর্থনৈতিক, রাজনৈতিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছে ।
আওয়ামী লীগের প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে শুক্রবার (২৩ জুন) বঙ্গবন্ধু আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন কেন্দ্রে আয়োজিত আলোচনা সভায় তিনি এ কথা বলেন।
তিনি বলেন, এদেশে অনেকে অনেক কথা বলে।
তিনি আরো বলেন বিএনপি ক্ষমতায় থাকতে কোথায় ছিল বাংলাদেশ আমরা তাদের স্মরণ করিয়ে বলতে চাই- । একসময় বলা হতো নুন-ভাত, এরপর ডাল-ভাত। এখন কিন্তু মানুষ মাংস পাচ্ছে না, সেটাই কথা হচ্ছে। আমি জানি মাংসের দাম অনেক বেড়েছে।
তবে এখন মানুষ মাংস খাওয়ার সক্ষমতা অর্জন করেছে ।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী আরো বলেন, জনগণের সম্পদ লুটপাট করবে,যা ইচ্ছা তা করবে এটা এই দেশের মানুষ মেনে নেয়নি। ১৯৯৬ সালে ভোট চুরির কারণে জনগণ খালেদা জিয়াকে ক্ষমতা থেকে বিতাড়িত করেছে। জনগণই তার বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ করেছে ।
তিনি আরো জানান যে দেশে ২০০৭ সালে পাতানো নির্বাচনের মাধ্যমে বিএনপি ভোটচুরির ষড়যন্ত্র করছিল। এজন্য জনগণ তাদের বিতাড়িত করেছিল ।
সভায় তিনি আওয়ামী লীগের ইতিহাস তুলে ধরে বলেন , জাতির পিতা বাঙালির মুক্তির জন্য ছয় দফা আন্দোলন করেন । ছয় দফার ভিত্তিতে ১৯৭০ এর নির্বাচন হয়। গোটা পাকিস্তানে আওয়ামী লীগ জয়লাভ করে।
বঙ্গবন্ধুর ডাকে এদেশের মানুষ অস্ত্র তুলে নেয়, যুদ্ধে বিজয় অর্জন করে বাঙ্গালী। বাঙালি জাতি বিজয়ী জাতি হিসেবে বিশ্ব দরবারে মর্যাদা পায়। এই সংগঠন বঙ্গবন্ধুর নেতৃত্বে মর্যাদা এনে দেয়। একটা যুদ্ধ বিধ্বস্ত দেশ তিনি গড়ে দিয়ে যান।
আওয়ামী লীগ সভানেত্রী বলেন, বাঙালি শিক্ষা-দীক্ষা সবদিক থেকেই পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানিদের চেয়ে এগিয়ে ছিল । সবসময় বাঙালির অধিকার কেড়ে নেওয়া হতো। ১৯৫৪ সালের নির্বাচনে যুক্তফ্রন্ট আওয়ামী লীগের নেতৃত্বে জয়লাভ করে। কিন্তু বেশিদিন প্রাদেশিক ক্ষমতায় থাকতে পারেনি। যে অল্প কয়েকদিন ক্ষমতায় ছিল সে সময়ের মধ্যে শেরে বাংলা যে সরকার গঠন করেছিলেন তার মন্ত্রিসভায় বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব একজন মন্ত্রী হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পেয়েছিলেন।
উক্ত আলোচনাসভায় আরো বক্তব্য রাখেন, দলের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ওবায়দুল কাদের, উপদেষ্টামণ্ডলীর সদস্য তোফায়েল আহমেদ, সভাপতিমণ্ডলীর সদস্য অ্যাডভোকেট জাহাঙ্গীর কবির নানক, আব্দুর রহমান, যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক মাহবুব উল আলম হানিফ, সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক শফিউল আলম চৌধুরী নাদেল, অ্যাডভোকেট আফজাল হোসেন, স্বাস্থ্য বিষয়ক সম্পাদক ডা. রোকেয়া সুলতানা, সদস্য বেগম আক্তার জাহান, মহানগর দক্ষিণ আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা আবু আহমেদ মন্নাফী, ঢাকা মহানগর উত্তর আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি শেখ বজলুর রহমান প্রমুখ।

But now people have acquired the ability to eat meat.
The Prime Minister also said that the people of this country have not accepted that they will loot people's wealth and do whatever they want. In 1996, people ousted Khaleda Zia from power due to vote theft. The people protested against him.
He also said that BNP was conspiring to steal votes in the 2007 Patano elections in the country. That is why the people expelled them.
In the meeting, he highlighted the history of Awami League and said that the father of the nation made a six-point movement for the liberation of Bengalis. The 1970 elections were held on the basis of six points. Awami League won all over Pakistan.
At the call of Bangabandhu, the people of this country took up arms, the Bengali won the war. The Bengali nation was recognized as a victorious nation in the world court. This organization brought prestige to Bangabandhu's leadership. He built a war-torn country.
Awami League president said, Bengali education was ahead of West Pakistanis in all aspects. Bengalis were always deprived of their rights. In the 1954 elections, the United Front won under the leadership of the Awami League. But could not stay in provincial power for long. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib was appointed as a minister in the cabinet of the government formed by Sher Bengal during his short days in power.
