ঈদুল আযহার দিনে দেশের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় কাঁচামরিচের দাম হাজার টাকা পর্যন্ত ছুঁয়েছে। গত কয়েক
বছরের মধ্যে এটাই ছিলো কাঁচামরিচের সর্বোচ্চ দাম। ঈদের আগে কাঁচা মরিচের দাম ৭০০-৮০০
টাকায় ওঠার পর পাইকারি-বিক্রেতারা আশ্বাস দিয়েছিলেন, ঈদের পর দাম কমে আসবে। তবে তাদের
সেই ধারণা ব্যর্থ করে দিয়ে দেশের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় ইদের দিন প্রতি কেজি কাচামরিচ বিক্রি হয়
১ হাজার টাকায়। ব্যবসায়ী ও ক্রেতারা বলছেন, তারা জীবনে কাঁচামরিচের এত দাম আর কখনো দেখেননি।
ব্যবসায়িরা জানিয়েছেন, ওই দিন সরবরাহ একেবারে কম থাকায় হুট করেই দাম অতিরিক্ত বেড়ে যায়।
অথচ শনিবারও দেশের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় ছয় থেকে সাতশ' টাকা কেজি দরে কাঁচামরিচ বিক্রি হয়।
বাজারের ব্যাবসায়ী রতন বাবু জানান, গত কয়েকদিন ধরেই কাঁচামরিচের দাম বেড়ে আছে। ঈদের
আগের ও ঈদের দিন খুব বেশি দামে বিক্রি হয়। বাজারে কাঁচামরিচ আসেও খুব কম।
পাইকারি বিক্রেতারা বলছেন, বৃষ্টি না হওয়ার কারণে মরিচের ফলন অনেক কম হয়েছে। সে কারণে ঈদের
আগে থেকেই কাঁচামরিচের দাম বাড়তে শুরু করে। কাঁচামরিচের তীব্র সঙ্কটের কারণে এখন তা আরও
বাড়ছে।
পাইকারিতে ৭০০-৮০০ টাকা কেজি দরে কিনে খুচরা ব্যবসায়ীরা বিক্রি করেন এক হাজার টাকায়। তারা
বলছেন, পাইকারি বাজারে দাম বেড়ে যাওয়ায় তারাও বাধ্য হয়ে দাম বাড়িয়েছেন।
ঝিনাইদহের শৈলকুপা হাট, ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার আখাউড়ায়, পূর্বধলা বাজার সহ দেশের বিভিন্ন বাজার ঘুরে এ তথ্য
পাওয়া গেছে।
On the day of Eid-ul-Azha, the price of green chillies in different parts of the country has reached
up to 1000 taka. This was the highest price of chillies in the last few years. After the price of raw
chilli rose to Tk 700-800 before Eid, the wholesalers assured that the price will come down
after Eid. However, their idea failed and in different parts of the country, each kg of pepper is
sold at Tk 1,000. Traders and buyers say that they have never seen such a price of green pepper
in their life.
Traders said that on that day the prices suddenly increased due to very low supply.
But even on Saturday, raw chillies are sold at the price of 6 to 700 taka per kg in different parts of
the country.
Ratan Babu, a trader in the market, said that the price of green chillies has been increasing for the
past few days. It is sold at very high prices before and on the day of Eid. There are very few raw
chillies in the market.
The wholesalers say that the yield of chilli has been very low due to lack of rain. That's why the
price of raw chilli started increasing before Eid. Now it is increasing due to acute crisis of chillies.
Wholesalers buy at 700-800 taka per kg and retail traders sell at 1000 taka. They say that due to
the increase in the price in the wholesale market, they have also been forced to increase the price.
