গিলমারের সাথে বৈঠক শেষে পররাষ্ট্র প্রতিমন্ত্রী শাহরিয়ার আলম জানান
(ইইউ)ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন বাংলাদেশে সুষ্ঠ অবাধ ও শান্তিপূর্ণ নির্বাচন
দেখতে চান।
আজ (২৫ জুলাই) রোজ মঙ্গলবার রাষ্ট্রীয় অতিথি ভবনে পররাষ্ট্র প্রতিমন্ত্রীর
সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেন ইমোন গিলমার। বৈঠক শেষে তিনি আরো বলেন
নির্বাচনে সকল দল আসার ব্যাপারে তার সাথে কোন কথা হয়নি।তিনি
বলেন বাংলাদেশের নির্বাচন পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে ইইউর পরিস্কার ধারনা হয়ে
গেছে আর এরই ভিত্তিতে তারা নির্বাচন পর্যবেক্ষনের ব্যাপারে সিদ্ধান্ত
নেবে।
শাহরিয়ার আলম আরো জানান জিএসপি সুবিধার মেয়াদ ২০২৯ সাল
পর্যন্ত বাড়ানো হয়েছে।
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said after the
meeting with Eamon Gilmer, EU's Special Representative for
Human Rights, who is visiting Dhaka, that the (EU) European
Union wants to see fair, free and peaceful elections in Bangladesh.
Today (July 25) Eamonn Gilmour met with the Minister of State
for Foreign Affairs at the State Guest House. After the meeting,
he also said that there was no talk with him about all the parties
coming to the election. He said that the EU has a clear idea
about the election situation in Bangladesh and based on that
they will decide on election observation.
Shahriar Alam also said that the period of GSP facility has been
extended till 2029.
